When I attended the Lake Elsinore Public Safety Advisory Commission meeting this past week it was announced by Police Chief Shelly Kennedy-Smith that the recent addition of a "Community Safety Officer" or CSO would make it possible for the Lake Elsinore police department to re-launch their defunct "Neighborhood Watch" program.
Chief Kennedy-Smith invited all Lake Elsinore residents to attend the LEPD's first Neighborhood Watch meeting on February 6th at 6pm at the Lake Elsinore police station at 333 Limited Avenue in Lake Elsinore.

If I heard Chief Kennedy-Smith correctly, I believe she said that Lake Elsinore's Neighborhood Watch program would be modeled after the successful USAonWatch.org national program.

"Crime Free" Training for Apartment Managers & Owners
Chief Kennedy-Smith mentioned that in addition to rolling out a relaunched Neighborhood Watch program, the new CSO Dep. Roxanne Baca was helping to make another important citizen training program possible called "Crime Free Multi-Housing" on January 24th in Murrieta.
The crime free multi-housing training helps owners and managers of apartment-type complexes screen residents for crime challenges. Click here to view a flyer for this training.
