(Note: I'm often involved in phone calls with independent telecom agents, IT consultants and business end-users that produce interesting but unverified information that TA members might find useful so I document it here. Isn't that what blogs are for?)
I got a call from a guy I know pretty well asking questions about a couple POTS (plain old telephone service) consolidators that I didn't know much about: MetTel, Access Point & DynaLink.
The guy wanted to know what agents were saying about them so I made a few calls and here's what I heard.
DynaLink is a great option for agents looking to install POTs lines on a "onesy-twosie" basis but their prices were higher than other POTs resellers like Access Point for say Verizon lines, $25 each as opposed to $14 per line or so.
I talked to a couple agents that liked Access Point's pricing and their ability to do super big POTS consolidation deals but could not really recommend them for small POTS orders. (But really, what carrier in their right mind wants small POTS line orders?) When I say the agent liked Access Point for this one really BIG DEAL, the agent quote was, "they have exceeded our every expectation".
MetTel got a big thumbs up from a couple agents for their online portal. I think the comment was something like, "most POTS consolidators have a TEM (telecom expense management) portal but MetTel's really stands out."
What have you heard about MetTel, Access Point & DynaLink or other carriers that do POTS consolidation?
Leave your comments below or email them to me.
I would recommend accesspoint, I don't know much about dynalink and have heard negatives about mettel. Actually every time they have come up it has been negative.... My 2ยข
