About 18 months ago I tried to sell a simple point-to-point data circuit from the US to Canada. No problem, right? We're the two biggest trading partners in the world, right? WRONG! After three months I just gave up. Everyone said they thought they could do it but no one could.
This week Granite Telecom is announcing that they can do Canada:
Granite has completed agreements with the major Canadian telecommunications companies and is now supporting consolidation of POTS lines for Canadian locations of US based clients. As in the US, Granite pricing is a discount off the tariff rate or commercially published rate of local services. Canadian LD calls, as well as calls from Canada to the US, will be billed at $0.049 per minute.
Note that Canada has approximately 2 million business POTS lines. These agreements allow Granite and its Agent partners to bring more value to existing clients through further consolidation while providing an attractive addition to Granite’s value proposition for potential new users, creating new opportunity for Granite partners to increase their commissions.
Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions regarding Canada consolidation with Granite Telecommunications.

Telecom Association is currently vetting Granite Telecom for TA's new "Accredited Vendor" status. A TA "accredited" vendor is a vendor that has been thoroughly examined by TA staff and members and judged worthy to be recommended by Telecom Association.
Click Here to Vote on Granite's Accreditation
To be accredited through TA, a vendor must submit themselves to the public opinion of TA's 3,800 members who are in the business of distributing telecom and technology solutions to business customers. If TA's members report that a vendor has a history of unresolved challenges with telecom agents, channel partners or their customers then they shall not receive accreditation through TA.
Vendors that do submit themselves to TA member critique and are found to be praised for their ability to deliver worthy solutions shall be promoted by TA to all TA members as both accredited and recommended by TA. Accreditation shall be for 12-month terms and can be removed by TA in the event that unresolved agent, partner or customer challenges arise and go unresolved.
This post officially opens a 30-day vetting period for Granite Telecom.
If any TA member knows of any reason that Granite should or should not receive TA's accredited vendor status please share that information below by posting a comment.

I got a chance to catch up with Charlie Pagliazzo of Granite Telecom at the recent Channel Partners trade show in Las Vegas. I invited him to share directly with Telecom Association members why he thinks Granite is the "go to provider" for any telecom agent, channel partner or multi location enterprise business end-user for both POTs consolidation and nation-wide structured cabling.

Before Granite joined TA as a vendor member I knew of them but I really didn't know "about them". What I've recently learned is pretty impressive:

What's the best way to decide whether you should introduce a carrier to your customer or customers? Introduce yourself the them first.
And who do you need to meet the most? The person representing that carrier and someone (like you) that's vouching for that person. Today we're doing just that with Granite Telecommunications.
Granite's recently come on board TA as a vendor member and as usual we interviewed the "channel chief" Charlie Pagliazzo. We also interviewed Marc Metzger, one of Granite's agents. Click here to listen to that interview.

The best way to learn whether a carrier delivers is to talk to a master telecom agent that can distribute any carrier he likes.
TA MLE POTs subject matter expert Marc Metzger, CEO of Telecom Management Resources spoke with me recently to share his experiences helping his MLE customers.
During our conversation he was quite complimentary of Granite Telecom. Listen to the interview to learn more about how telecom agents and channel partners can master the "multi location enterprise" segment and why Marc thinks Granite Telecom is the vendor to place that business with.
You can contact Marc at 248-671-2161or visit their website at www.Ask4TMR.com to learn more about how he can help you prospect or close a MLE POTs deal you have an opportunity with.
